Anxiety Counseling

Anxiety & Stress Therapy

Anxiety and stress counseling provides a safe space and tools to cultivate self-compassion, mindfulness and balance in your personal and professional life.

We live in a busy world filled with non-stop pressure and deadlines. Anxiety often appears as tension, constant worry or fear. Some of you are so preoccupied with staying busy to fulfilling obligations that you have hard time relaxing, slowing down or making a decision.

You find yourself overthinking, struggling to find some peace, or indulging in food or a few extra drinks.

Anxiety in small doses can motivate you to do better. However chronic stress can have a negative impact such as edginess, tension, and disbalance in your mind and body. It raises cortisol, the stress hormone, which can lead to emotional stress and physical health issues.

  • Overthinking, worry, over-analyzing
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Trying to make things “perfect”
  • Hard time dealing with change
  • Feeling resentful, underappreciated and tired
  • Self-criticism or negative self-talk
  • Fear of failure or rejection
  • Catastrophizing
  • An over-scheduled busy life with demands

Feeling frustrated, resentful or stressed

When we are under stress, we tend to respond with “fight, flight or freeze” response. Some people continue to fight it by staying in constant motion, doing more, and putting more stress on their body. Others may have hard time making decisions, avoiding situations or postponing.

Having high expectations or perfectionism may also hold you back from trying new things. In a way, you sabotage yourself before even starting. Fear of failure is so common.

Anxiety counseling can provide relief, new coping skills, and a safe space to explore your stress and worry.

We work collaboratively to help you identify anxiety producing thoughts, utilize CBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion.  It is important to find a counselor that would be a good fit and help you stay motivated and on track.
